Blog – February 2022 – Interlocking System

Welcome

to our blog for February 2022. This post is mainly about the Signalmod, but there is also news from the server.

Signalmod

The last few days there has been a lot of work on the Signalmod . This has a feature in development to easily realize interlockings in Minecraft. With these interlockings it is very easy to set signals and points for trains via a GUI (graphical user interface). The interlockings are a mixture of DSTW (digital interlocking) and GS (track interlocking) and are very easy to operate.

An integrated editor is included, with which you can individually create your own interlocking on a 50×50 grid. For this purpose, various elements can be placed in the grid. In addition to a straight rail element, there is also a diagonal rail, as well as prellbock, platform and level crossing elements. This is supplemented by main signal, pre-signal, shunting signal and shunting stop signal elements. There are still more planned to ensure extensive operation of the interlockings. Once the interlocking has been created in the editor, signals can be linked to it and linked to the elements to give the whole thing the missing functionality. Further information on how the interlockings work can be found in our wiki.

We would be happy if you could test the mod and our new system to give us feedback about errors, suggestions and the functionality or usability of the interlockings.

News from the server

There has been a lot of progress on the server. The port has got a police and sea rescue. In addition, the warehouse at the airport was completed and decorated, so that goods can now also be handled there in the future. Let there be light – Not to forget, street lamps were built in Rödau and the surrounding area to illuminate the city even at night. At the same time, two routes were terraformed, so that you can now marvel at a beautiful landscape from the train. These are on the one hand the route to the gravel pit and on the other hand the route from Rödau to the airport. The Rödau City Cemetery was also completed.

The builders also held two smaller conferences in February for planning the next construction phases. The industrial area in Rödau is home to a vegetable oil refinery, large bakery, train car production, brickworks and other factory facilities. In the second builders' conference, the route towards Bad Spencer was further planned and the planning for Bad Spencer itself was started, where the first terraform actions have already started. The tracks there were already there, but were rebuilt in the course of the station again, so that work can continue on the small town. We will report more about the history of Bad Spencer in the next blog.

Furthermore, there was a small redesign of our website, as possibly already inconspicuously noticed. We changed the general design, applied our general color scheme, and used a new header image. We hope that it now looks more appealing. More updates will follow in the future.

Thanks for reading and see you next post. Have you well,The
